Is Part A of the DTC done?

There are two sections to the DTC application, Part A and Part B. The first step is to see if your patient has already completed Part A (the individual’s portion) of the DTC. If so, the process varies a bit depending on how they filled it in.

If your patient completed the DTC online or by phone

If your patient completed Part A online or over the phone through the Canada Revenue Agency, they should have a reference number.

If you have this reference number, you can proceed to the next step, which is to fill in the online application on the Canada Revenue Agency website: https://apps.cra-arc.gc.ca/ebci/uisp/dtc/entry/en.

If your patient completed the PDF form (either print or digital)

To make it more accessible for people with disabilities, applicants still have the option of submitting a paper copy of the application. You can fill out relevant sections of Part B of the application and return the application to your patient for them to review and submit.
